MY PARENTS
ALHAJI AHMED ASELA EGBEJOBI
My father, the late Alhaji Ahmed Asela Egbejobi, hailed from Ilugun-Asalu in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He was a well-known and well-respected international businessman. He was the owner of Asela Motors and many other businesses.
Alhaji Egbejobi was married to my mother, the late Alhaja Isiwat Asake, who also hailed from Ilugun-Asalu, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. She was very brilliant in school. After she graduated, she worked as an accountant in one of the big companies in the city where she met my father. They were good friends and lively companions to each other, and they were also loving and caring parents to us…
ALHAJA ISIWAT ASAKE
…On marrying my father, my mother helped him out in his business as an accountant. As a car dealer, he usually travelled to Japan and my mother was always on hand to handle the business while he was away. I am from a large family, the third child from my mother. On 4th September 1987, my father made a trip to his family home, as he regularly did. However, on the 6th of September 1987, I received the news that my father had passed away. I was eight years old then.
In 1994, we started worshipping at The SCOAN, where we became born-again Christians under the mentorship of Senior Prophet T. B. Joshua. I lived with my mentor for almost 26 years until September 17, 2021, when I got the news that my mother had gone to be with the Lord.
I give thanks to God because they both have joined the cloud of witnesses after closing their eyes to all the calamities of this world and opening them in the world of glory. May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace!
